The eve of the trip

Hello family and friends!

I'm writing this at 12:45 am Seattle time, in my quest to try to stay awake all night in the hopes that that will enable me to sleep on the plane, something I never can do. It might not work, in which case I'll be really cranky upon my arrival in Europe, but I'm hoping that won't be the case.

So tomorrow, we're off to my favorite city in the world: Florence. It will be me, mom and Aunt Clare for the first 2 and a half weeks, and then they leave me on July 4th to go back to Cleveland (Just in time for Independence Day fireworks!) I'm in Italy until July 26: almost 6 weeks!

I'm hoping to be able to update often, including pictures of the three of us adventuring in Italy. It will all depend on how often and easy it is to find a wireless connection.

So that's all for now...I'm going to finish packing and cleaning the condo. I'll be in Europe when I next write in this blog!

Clare, I'm a slowtrav person and just saw your post under Italy section that you are blogging. I'm so glad to have found your blog. It's lovely. I'll continue to read. I love Florence too!. My daughter (24 yr.) is returning to the states after 3 years total in Italy next week. Now I'm going to read about your daughter's trip! Thanks for notifying us about your blog. Barb Cabot
